I`m in the process of doing my trans and I am having an issue with the O/D piston retainer/low rev. drum assembly. The O/H thrust washer kit I have has a two tang metal thrust washer for the low reverse drum,problem is I can`t get the snap ring into the groove on the O/D piston retainer with it on. It`s not even close to fitting and stupid me has had this unit apart for over a month now and I don`t recall if there was a washer there to begin with (stupider me did`nt take any pics of the teardown ). I saw over on tuckerdee`s blog page he doesn`t have a thrust washer there and I was wondering if any of you folks who have had your trans apart can remember if the unit had one there? Funny thing is I tried mocking it up with the o.e. retainer and same problem, also measured the two retainers side by side and all the dimensions are the same...in short I`m stumped.
