alright well i can get my truck going 145 kmh at 3/4 throttle with my stock winter tires with lock up and od on, and now i threw my 35" km2's on and the truck is a dog any hill it hits it just decreases in speed so bad, ill have it floored with od on and be going 80kmh-100 but struggling and the EGT will be at 1200 for a few seconds till i let off, then as soon as im on flat again at 3/4 throttle ill be around 125KMH with EGT at 1000 and boost at 15, this dosent seam right all with out od on i top out at 80 with it revving hard, then when switched into od it will be 110 or so revving hard again, and then lockup will get me to roughly 130KMH max, it just dosent seam right to me, i played around with the TV cable and adjusted it to the best i could, but from others who have done the swap, id like to know how ur truck does and also what are your settings on the linkages? also i have 3:54 gears could that be holding me back? it definetly likes the small winter tire's but i hate having to pull back into traffic on hills because i cant go regular speed. anyhelp appreciated!

Are you sure your getting full throttle travel? I never even touched my TV cable when I first did the install.

My truck with 235-85-16's would top out in 3rd gear locked at 80mph which is roughly 128kmh. In overdrive I've gone clear past 100mph without much trouble.

I was running 35's on mine for a while, I noticed it coming off the line, but I never had an issue with speed.

You really can't "check".... You just know if its slipping LOL. if the engine is revving high and it ain't going nowhere. With those tires and stuff on your truck and the weight of it and the mods, I bet your conv. is slipping if its a stocker. I know when our 518 converter started slipping (cuz of beatin on it with mods), it started to sit at a higher rpm cruising 70mph then it did when it was stock.

you mean the clutches slipping? i had that on my old 518 but no it isent doing it on this new tranny, it's just revved out and i dont feel no shutter at a hard take off like a slipping tranny would do. and the oil is clean.

I'm not a tranny expert but... LOL why did'nt you upgrade to a billet while you did the swap? Goerend, DTT, they all make awesome converters for that tranny and you have many many choices on an upgrade compared to buying a converter for the a518.

ahha well only being in highschool and making $10 and hour i thought just the upgrade was enough for me i dident even wanna go with upgrading alreadyy especially when the bill was $3000. also i disconnected the entire tv cable to "not bother" with it andd it still hase trouble keeping 120 KMH and struggles on hills, i think my trans is slipping again.

Don't do that. The TV cable is very important. As you increase throttle the trans will increase line pressure. Without it hooked up you will surely slip it.

so how much does it hurt to have the tv cable pushed Back all the time?? Wouldn't it be like having a pressure lock deal..

It shouldn't hurt anything. Its almost like running a manual valve body with the line pressure high all the time. Might shift a little stiffer, but that's not much of a problem. Your shift points might be a little higher too.
