4" or bigger exhaust

Who offers the cheapest 4" (at least 4") or bigger exhaust? Quality is a good thing, dont want billy bobs muffler shop sticking of flex pipe.

Oh and thats from the turbo back. I cant ever find anything before 94.

No 4" exhaust for a first gen is cheap. Stan's Headers is supposed to make a really good full turbo back 4" for our trucks. I just bought a Stan's downpipe and it looks to be a quality piece. The first gen kits run about $475, and you have to call them to order. stansheaders.com

Thats not too spendy if it does good for my truck. Will I notice a difference in power or is it just for pretty much for lower EGT's I already have a huge K&N on it with no air box.

It will definitely lower EGTs and it should add some power as it flows better than stock exhaust.

I put the Stan's on mine. On the 4X4 it's a tight fit around the T-case, but once you figure out the angles it fits nice. I didn't like the way the mount on the bellhousing sat on the pipe so I ditched that and made a mount to use the empty holes on the T-case. I got the muffler as I leave for work fairly early, it's not stock quiet, but it's sure not a straight pipe either. The tailpipe exits at an angle to the rear (45 deg) rather than straight out (90 deg). All in all I'm pleased with it.

I've got RIP's full 4 inch on mine, and the tailpipe exits just like factory, and yes, it will net a small performance gain over the factory crimped system. No issues around the TCase, and the 4" DP fits good too.

Having tried a variation of exhaust setups between my D250 and W250, I have come to a conclusion that should assist you in your decision to go with Stans. Before Stan's 4", this is what I have tried:
1. OEM from turbo to where the muffler sits. Got rid of the muffler and straight piped the muffler section with 4" all the way over the rear axle and behind the tire. Power seemed great at first, and a year later, just OK. Noisy, but with windows rolled up not bad at all.
2. OEM from the turbo to where the muffler sat. Got rid of muffler and all pipe afterwards. Put a 3" diameter, short radius 90 degree pipe facing down to the ground. Good spool up, sounded wicked, but started to get embarrasingly annoying within 6 months. Soot all over the rear axle, fuel tank, etc.
3. Situation #2, my W250, got a Stan's full set up. Excellent product. I truly now realize what a big restriction just the downpipe is. I went with a muffler on his kit, and although it is muffled, it still has the manly diesel droan which we all love. Oh, yeah, turbo whistle is ear peircingly wicked more than ever in my HY9cm. In fact, it whistles at idle in park.
4. Situation #1 still remains as explained, and that is my D250 with the stocker downpipe. It truly is a restriction I truly feel when I switch trucks.

bigragu, you have quite a few mods. Which one was the most noticable in power?
