3200 GSpring-easy to do?
My Momma said I was always a late bloomer...Is this pretty easy to do? I had one of our vendors tell me that If I had no experiences with pump work don't even attempt it. I just got the spring from Bosch. I've read the instructions on tech section. Is this a 4 hour job? Basic tools OK? Any other tips is appreciated. What could I possibly FFFFF up? Advice, please. Carmyne
It took both wannadiesel and SteamerDave to do mine, I understand that you need a min. of 3 arms
It only took 3hrs
(bolt stripped out and we didn't have the right tools to remove the bolt properly)
I would suggest hooking up with someone that has at least seen the inside of the pump.
Good luck,
Michael

i consider myself a novice mechanic,. i can get crap apart no problem. usually lable stuff and take pictures... but for this since its teh heart of the motor i went to someone who did it already, (rebal, thanks) i forget how long it took him but we did need to make a banjo bolt... it helps to have that third hand for sure.. even having participated in the switch i wouldnt feel comfortable doing for someone else... if its not your daily driver DIVE in. he he

When I did mine It was the first time I was inside of my pump. No previous experience at all and It was only me no1 else. I used this site here http://dens-site.net/Dodge_CTD/Gover...ing/index.html to help me along. It helps alot cuz of the pics. The only difficult part is remembering where everything goes but if you take it apart slowly and mark everything down its fine

I did mine with the help of Wanna via this forum. I would feel better having someone help with the reassemble and most important have that someone stand next to the turbo inlet with a piece of 3/4 ply wood in case the engine decides to run away on you. You can block off the air to the turbo and shut it down avoiding costly connecting rod leaks. A second set of fingers will help when you try to put the pump back together. It took me more than four hours because I didn't listen to some good advise. Match mark everything you can, take lots of pictures and count the number of turns you move any adjusting screw. It all needs to go back real close to where it came from or it will overspeed or not run. Other than that it was a cake walk.
