30 psi oil check valve - bypass filter
Hello,
So I am considering purchasing a Frantz TP By-pass oil filter for my 400,000 mile engine.... Best I know it hasn't been rebuilt. I use the truck as a service vehicle so I am mainly interested cleaning the oil to keep the engine going. I will be installing a mechanical oil gauge in a week or two just to make sure I actually have enough oil pressure.
So to the question... Does anyone know where I can get a check valve that opens at 30 psi? I have read from several places that one is recommended but no one seems to give an idea of where to get it. I found an industrial parts place but that thing is designed for -60f to 400f ... A little out of my price range.

Why would you need a check valve that opens at 30 psi?

Back in the 60's Frantz and Stilco T/P filters were popular and I was told by several big name West Coast race engine builders that the T/P filters worked too well and removes the detergents and addatives leaving it the same as non detergent oil and was not.advised to use on racing applications.
It made since to me.
Wonder if a testing lab would know.
