2wd Club Cab Frame
2wd Club Cab Frame
Found a frame. Of course it's 2wd but I do have 4wd parts in a '90 reg cab donor. I would really like to have a removable crossmember under the oil pan. Does anyone make one yet? Also want to move the front axle forward an inch. The Club frame doesn't have any of the holes for the Ramcharger crossmembers unlike the '80 Crew that I had.
Has anyone built a 4wd coil front suspension using the coil mounts of the 2wd frame? Just thinkin'!

I moved the front axle forward an 1 1/2 on my club cab 2wd to 4x4 build, so you can check out my thread for those details.
The rear fuel tank crossmembers for the RC fuel tanks are not found on the 1st gen diesel trucks.
Even if the coils where in the right place, you still have no four links brackets, no track bar bracket, the engine crossmember will interfere with the Dana 60 diff cover and the big one, the 2nd gen axles that come with coil springs from the factory are a drivers side drop, so your 1st gen T-case will not work...
Buying the right frame would have been the easy way to do this....but there are several 2wd to 4x4 threads on DTR you should check out...Thrashingcows crew cab build would be one of the first ones I would recommend.
BTW, that is a clean looking frame you found.
Yeah I know only RCs had those rear tank crossmembers. I was surprised that the '80 crew had most of the holes for the RC crossmembers. '93 Club doesn't appear to have any of them. Hopefully I can find them pictures I took years ago.
Ruffstuff has all the generic components to do front coils, but that may be too ambitious! Crossmember is probably in the way of the track bar.

I've been looking for a 4wd frame, good luck with that! Parts are getting scarce at least around here, and intact trucks are getting real pricey.
Tomorrow I'll see a 4wd frame for sale, LoL!
