Talking 2nd gen seats

I am alost done installing my seats. I went a little different. I had 2 bench seats around so I robbed all the brackets off them and mounted it on my 2 gen seats making the like 2 buckets. I had to built an extention to get enough clearence in the middle for the consol I just off set the seats on the hardware 2 incus. It turned out great. I will post pics tomarrow but I love the new ride. They sit real low and give my 6 ft 2 inch 345 lb self lots more room. Still have to mount the consol though I ran out of daylight.

I too just finished my 2nd gen seat install. I love it!! I thought of doing something similar to what you did with using bench seat brackets as the bucket seat tracks, but decided to go a different route.

Look forward to seeing the pics.

i've done it the way u did before, it works ok, but makes you sit funny... idk if its back or forward i just remember it feeling...different. I'm thinking about putting 2nd gen seats in my truck right now because of the bench coming to pieces.

I find mine very comfortable, and with my size, 6'8" and 275lbs I still have almost 6 inches of head room, and a ton of leg room. I almost have to scoot the seat forward a notch or two...now for me that is unheard of....

I like a 2" pitch back from front of seat to back, thats about max of what an electric seat can do. I think i may have to get mine re-foam-covered before i try and install them.

goto an upholstery shop and have the seat re-foamed and re-covered. Shouldn't be more than 100bux per seat. Depending on your area n how slow the shop is that you goto.

hole on side of seat

I put shorter tires on my truck to start. I try to "hop" in to the driver's seat so I don't drag my big white ash over the side of it (where the Grand Canyon forms)
