29/23 spline coupler

Hey guys, so I finally found a core nv4500 for a good price to put in my truck. My question is regarding the transfer case. I have the 23 spline 205 from behind my auto, I found a 29 to 23 spline adapter coupler from shsdiesel.com, will the 23 spline t-case hold up behind a stick? My goal hp number is around 300. The reason I ask is because the coupler is much cheaper than buying a 29 spline 205. What are you thoughts, anyone used one of these before?

call 1 800 776 1191 tx exchange, if the part is weak, they will recommend a input gear

You will be fine with the 23 spline transfer case, the one in my brothers truck didn't break til about 550hp, and while sled pulling.

yeah. I would venture to guess he'd be fine but there is definitely a reason they went with a bigger input for the stick trucks. An auto will dampen things and be more gentle, if you will, than a stick ever would.

Yeah, I know they went to a 29 spline shaft for a reason and that a 23 spline behind a stick wouldnt be "ideal". I just figured the 23 spline t-cases seem to hold up fine behind a built auto just fine, even ones with a lockup converter, until you start getting into some crazy horsepower/torque numbers. So I figured if I could save some coin it would help me get the truck on the road sooner, and in the meantime I could keep my eyes open for a good deal on a 29 spline case for down the road. I probably wont be out at the track hooking up to a sled anytime soon anyways.

As long as you're not out drag racing or dumping the clutch I don't see a problem in it.
