Cool deal, Looks like I started a trend for putting it upside down!! Less bends in the piping= Better Flow!!!!

here's some pics of the i/c piping that i finished today. the pipes will be painted the same color as the truck when i paint it this summer so they're bare galvanized steel for now. this is AFTER flipping the intake plate.

Does changing the intake plate around cause any flow issues?? Not that the air distribution is that great anyway but still... Nice install I will have to remember this one. How much of an upgrade is this compared to a factory first gen ic?

If you have acces to tig welder, I would reccomend cutting the turbo outlet elbow flange off and milling the elbow to a true 90* and then re welding the flange back on. It makes for a straight shot to the IC. Gets it away from the fender.

ebteckx, my truck never had an i/c so its a BIG upgrade. im not sure about any flow issues, i kinda want to make my own banks twin ram thing out of 3" pipe tho so it does distribute the air evenly, my boost went from 40 psi to 28 and my EGT's dropped 200 degrees. It doesnt feel as torquey but its faster, it revs up quicker. i dont know any 0-60 times cuz my speedo doesnt work but it feels alot faster.
DNR, yea i was looking at that when i was making my piping. When school starts back up in jan for my 2nd semester ill take it into the welding shop or drag a tig over to my diesel class and see what i can do

thanks for the comments guys

Next up;
install my clutch
6X16's
HX super 40
4" exhaust
paint (coming first when summer hits)
new carpet
2nd gen seats
aftermarket gauges in the factory dash spots

then she's DONE......then its time for another 1st gen only a club cab lol Or a 1st gen reg cab shorty 2wd with a "hot rod 97" p-pump 12v thats full blown drag truck but still street legal for those nice summer nights when the ricers are out

Do you have an a/c condenser mounted in that thing? I mocked up the banks one i bought a few weeks ago and its gonna take some serious work to get the grille to fit.

i dont, i took the a/c out when i built the truck. i hate electric locks, windows and a/c. just more stuff to go wrong is my belief lol its a tight fit w/o the condenser tho but with a little cutting and fitting it'll work

Hmm...never heard anyone complain about ac or pwr door locks and windows!! Holly cow! My 92 has more options than my Dads 03 1500.. to each there own I guess!!

Ac. condensor fits BTW, right in between the IC and the Rad. Had about 3/4 gap when I did mine!!

i hate it, thats why i loved my 92 W150 that i sold to rifleman. manual everything from lock to transmission and no a/c lol. summer time just roll the windows down and roll. but DNR u have a factory i/c truck dont u? Dont they have a little deeper core support or is it just made for a taller, narrower rad, newer grill (light placement moved) and an i/c?
