Oh..well converting to DRW does make sense with the 235s and I'm not even aware of any non-E rated 235-85 tires. I know a lot of folks run them. I seriously wouldn't worry about running 235s on my D350 and I plan on doing just that when it's time for new tires. Keep in mind that with the 235-85 tires, even if you load them down, the sidewalls are stiff enough to have very limited flex and your risk of them rubbing is very low.

second gen drw has more clearance, ive seen numerous trucks in my area with 255 85 16 on them and have about and have a 1.5'' gap between them, 255 are 33'' tall and 10'' wide, the 235 85 16 is a 31'' tall tire and 7'' wide

First number is width in mm.

235mm / 25.4 = 9.25 inches
255mm / 25.4 = 10.04 inches

I'm pretty sure this is over all width. Depending on squarness of the tires, the TREAD could be thinner on certain tires, but the over all thickness unloaded are all the same.

I'm running 255/85's on mine and have been for quite some time. What I like about them is there 33" tall but still narrow enough to run without spacers. You can find them on tireseasy.com and a few other sites.

THANKS! I was wondering if they would work. THe local tire place can order them. I'll swap my 235's onto the utility bed and get some 255s then

I have been running 255/85"s for years on my DRW and have'nt had any problem. They get close when I put a heavy load on but they don"t rub.

I'm running 235/85/16s on mine and the label indiates 215s preferred from the factory. No issue on rubbing but I don't haul heavy, mostly single car trailer.

My dually had 265/75's on it when I bought it, and I'm still running them. There is only about 3/4" in between the tires so it gets kind of tight with a load on. It's time for new skins, the couple trips to the drag strip destroyed them. Probably going back with a 235/85, maybe a 245/75.

wow that tire must have been ballooning on those dually wheels.

sometimes i think 235s look too fat. but i guess my eye is really on 19.5s so anything else looks fat

Its just a narrower tire, how will i be running higher rpm's (First # is the width of the tire and second # is the height of the tire. Correct me if I'm wrong.

215/85's are about an inch shorter than 235/85's. the "85" refers to the sidewall height as a percentage of tire width. 85% of 215 mm is less than 85% of 235 mm.
