Well last night I rewired the trailer plug, well actually I started fresh. When I put the new box on a while back I got rid of the old plug and hacked up wiring mess as the PO had hacked into the factory harness and screw everything up. I replaced the factory harness at the back of the truck when I did the box also.

Anywho I got all my stuff from the Local NAPA. They had a nifty little plug in setup for about 20$, This is the same setup my buddy has been using for about a year and a half with no issues. also got a 7 pin plig also that plugs into the end of the harness the connects to the truck. The only thing you gotta do is wire in the Brake,Charge and Backup wires.

Heres the PN# for the stuff I got.

PN 755-1555, This is the setup that plugs in to the truck

PN 755-1842, this is the setup that plugs into the other harness, this is just what I got as there are many options for this end.




Don't mind those other wires there just the wires from the 6 way plug thats in the bumper thats not hooked up.

 

Looks like you get your left turn (yellow) and running lights (brown) from the left-side harness and the right turn (green) from the right-side harness. I wish I had known about this before I wired up a new 7-way hook up on mine.

 

I have that same Hopkins kit. I really like it! WAY less mess of wires!
