1st Generation Parts

Hey Guys , Thanks to all I got my 1989 motor started yesterday , I also picked up a 91.5 a few weeks before pretty cheap .
Not sure if I should sell the 91.5 off , I could use the extra dough , seems like the price on the 1st gen parts are at premium , plus there getting harder to find ... My 89 has a dent in the oil pan and a good condition oil is selling for 200 bucks .
The 91.5 has a lot of parts that I could use , also has the water upper inlet thats going in the direction I need for my suburban conversion .
Is the VE IP the same on the 89's the same as the 91.5 ?

Thanks

Pretty much the same, 89 has tiny bit bigger delivery valves and the KSB works differently between the two pumps (cold starting device)

Otherwise its just the # on the pump that will be different.

I feel the pain of a fellow hoarder. No one wants to buy it untill you throw it away.

I'm with you; having hard time finding parts for my '92. Long-life engines in a short life chassis I guess. Wonder how they keep things going in Cuba?

Murphy's Law always applies: The first spare part that you sell will be the first spare part that you need!
The logic behind this actually makes sense; if it broke for someone else it must be a common problematic part so your's will follow suite.
I'm keepin all my junque! Junque is is the term for valuable junk. )(
