1978 crew cab
finally bought a crewcab, it was a gov. surplus . got a couple of big jobs here before it gets any attention be after next summer if i am lucky . will have to find a 93 4x4 donor cummins with a stick. may use nose if it fits off of a 93. probably swap axles trans. transfer case and radiator , a/c . so i will be doing alot of reading and searching on here . thanks to all the info so far , it gave me the insite i needed to know and the confidence to take this on. i will also lose the tool box on back in favor for a pickup box or nice flatbed. i put a picture on my garage it is the yellow rig.

look on the craigslist i found several on the west coast from north to south. what i need to know is how long of trailer can i get this thing on. i use goosenecks most of the time would have to rent a bumper pull. how long from front bumper to rear wheels? could i get it on a twenty foot gooseneck i know it will hang over the rear. the front bumper against the trailer gooseneck and just need the wheels to ride safe on trailer deck.

Sounds like you'll have one great truck, farmer! '78 was a good year for Dodge trucks in my opinion, but I like the older truck's lines. I'd check wheelbase [133"?] and total weight as far as the trailer goes, or see how much to have it hauled commercial? You might be surprised if you can wait 'til someone has another load going your way. Just be safe and ENJOY the conversion!

I've got a lot of rust under the surface. A complete rust-free crewcab will save me a bundle of money in bodywork. 7603719908
