Exclamation 1400* F????

Been noticing the truck has`nt been pulling to well lately and boost is off by a couple of psi, I happened to be "testing" the amount of rear wheel traction the other day and saw my pyro @ the 1400 deg mark....???? YIKES!!!!!(usually max`s out around 1100) Looked into it today and there is the tiniest of holes in one of the boots (the one by the a/c line/pass side). Darn a/c line wore right thru the boot. I had mentioned this in the past and I guess the "thin" spot could`nt handle the extra boost (only 30 psi...I feel "challenged"). Thing is this hole is soooo small, in fact it`s not even a "hole" just worn paper thin with about a 1to2mm split, guess it doesn`t take much to cause some super high egt`s.

Yep, it'll jump right up there if something goes wrong. That's why all my gauges are clocked so that "OK" is straight up. You can do quicker checks if you don't have to read.

good thing you saw it or you might have had to drain the pistons with your next oil change

I can't take credit for it. Look inside any race car, you'll see what I mean. "OK" is straight up.
