Sorry for the ignorance, don't know what turbo came stock on a 97 12 valve. Was it a HX35? If so, would a 4" downpipe physically fit? It was originally on my 01 when it was stock.

I've got enough exhaust laying around to pipe a couple trucks. Wondering if my downpipe would work or not...

 

Surely would. Turbo outlets were essentially unchanged 94-02.
