White smoke all the time tried normal fixes

Hey I have a 95 Ram that began to smoke (white haze) all the time. It started when towing 12,000 Lbs on the highway normal speed 65 ish. slowed down through chicago traffic and noticed hazing that never clears (smells like unbernt diesel). I checked timing and it was at 13.5, and while I was at it bumped it to 15.5. adjusted valves back to factory spec and changed the prefilter screen fuel filter was changed 500 miles ago so I left it. Fuel pressure at the Inj Pump inlet is 25-30psi at idle and about the same at 2000 Rpm no load. I checked the overflow for blockage and it seamed clear. starts and runs like a top, no shake or rough running, it just purs no hesitation or noticable loss of power. Oil level has risen and smells like diesel so I thought nozzles were junk. Engine has 170,000 so I pulled them and the tips were a little sooty but not overly nasty. Pop tested them today and all were within a hundred psi of eachother around 3800 Psi. Cleaned them in an ultrasonic cleaner for a few hours and they are all at 3800-3900 Psi. spray pattern seems normal and consistant throughout the nozzles. m next guess is mared a piston and lost compression but it runns so good, it is hard to believe it could be that. I plan on checking exhaust manifold runner temps to see if there is a cylinder that is real low although it dosent sound like there is a dead cylinder. My only other thought is air bleeding in the fuel system somewhere but If there was I would have seen a leak by know I am sure.

Plugged up airfilter?
Remember you can't tell by looking, a plugged filter may look clean and dirty one might be just fine.

sorry forgot to mention, smokes the same filter or none. I did check for filter restriction and I cleaned my filter no change.

I am not using oil that I know of, the crankcase level has actually risen and the oil smells like diesel. Dillution due to to much fuel or incomplete combustion I think.

Isn't white smoke indication of air entering the system? I know when I replaced the fuel lines to the tank, it cleared up my white haze problem. Are you using more antifreeze than normal?

Oil smelling like raw fuel and rising in level would be a big alarm for me. Not sure if it is possible, but maybe the lift pump or IP leaking into the engine oil. The thinner oil would likely burn as it sling more out of the bearings and load the cylinder walls making the oil rings less effective at oil control on the cylinder walls. The thinner/extra oil would burn and cause haze.

If you have diesel leaking into the crank case it will most likely wreck the bearings and cam shaft in short order.

If you are sure about the oil level rising and smelling of fuel I would stop driving it immediately untill you have a diagnosis.

Check for engine not comming up to temp, timing or bad injector(s)

I verified timing and injector function both good( timing at 15.5 and they pop tested fine and had good spray patterns) I have stopped driving it, untill I figure it out. I thought about internal pump seals leaking fuel into the crankcase, although I think incomplete combustion would also yield oil level rising aswell, as fuel will not burn and have time to seep past the rings.

There are not many things that will cause white smoke and raw fuel in the oil. Injectors bleeding fuel before pop-off or hanging up, engine not comming up to temp or timing......not to say your 15.5* static is incorrect, the pump itself could be causing the problem.

Possibilities

Might want to test compression. May have a dead cylinder or bad rings which will result in raw fuel getting into the exhaust and crankcase.

It would be a good thing to check, most of the time when you drop a cylinder you feel a miss and the engine will rev slower

You've done quite a bit already.. Perhaps the best logical next step is to have oil analysis performed on a sample. You could easily have coolant dilution and never be able to smell it. If you are smelling fuel there's probably a combination of situaitons occuring. Could it be a headgasket? you may not want to test this now, but I would look for bubbles in the overflow tank wiht the engine fully warmed up & running as a further indication.

Sorry about your problem, hope you get it sorted out soon!
