Where to pick up set of 4.10s?
Sounds like its in the ball park. Do you have any offroad shops in your area? Those are the guys you want to look for. They do that kind of stuff all the time. I towed alot with my 3:55's and 35's. It did well, but I ended up swapping to 4:10's, just because they were more condusive to the type of driving I do (lots of 45-55 mph roads, barely seeing any highway time). I found that the 3:55's lugged the motor down more than I liked. The truck still pulled great, but my egt's were harder to control. If you're getting the 3:55's back with the sale, throw them in. They are matched sets, so be careful you don't get the ring/pinion gears confused with each other.

The guys who quoted the $800 are the ones who put the 4.56s in for the previous owner. I figure they know the truck already and its within 10 miles of my house. I didn't want to drive to a larger city (30+ miles) with the 30" tires and 4.56s in there only to save $50 or so. I'm just gonna git-r-done I guess. I'll let you know of the outcome. Now I just need some pics of 33's on these trucks! I guess I will have to turn up the snort so I don't notice the 3.55's as much.
Wideglide,
As a street bob owner, I honestly can't answer that question. I just called around to a few places where the individual sounded competent in the area of changing gears and setting backlash. Then I just asked what the "out-the-door" cost would be and that was as far as I went. I'm sure someone on here will know the answer to your question.

Well I'm glad to hear that...
Don't understand how they can sell a bike in black primer and feel good about it..
Here's mine the day I picked it up..
Course it's got drags on it now.. had to ditch those honda-sounding pipes..
