what sealer to use ?

hi
what sealer to use on engine for timing m case and timing case cover and oi pan ect.

what sealer is diesel re\proof that will with stand diesel fuell contamination and not brake down and allow leaks ?

I don't believe there is any diesel specific.

Just use a good quality gasket maker and you will be GTG.

Best I have used for anything is this

make sure the surfaces are very clean, and it will seal very well. Far superior to any silicone sealant.

For hard surfaces I use Ultra grey, for sheetmetal pans Ultra Blue. Stuff like "form-a-gasket" seals really well, but it's a *nightmare* to get off. I use that stuff for NPT threads on diesel nurse tanks.

Silicone is nice because it is a very reliable seal *if surfaces are perfectly clean* and comes off when you need it to. I bend the rules and wipe a layer, the "ultra" spreads more smoothly. I have also noticed ultra versions seems to stay put better when clamped wet.
