At What Mileage is the KDP getting people?

I have just read the new article in Diesel Power Magazine for June of '07 and there starting on page 160 is a 4 page spread on the KDP. I am ordering my KDP kit right tomarrow. I currently have 180,000 miles on my truck. What Mileage did the KDP attack others?

It can happen anytime. Do it before its too late. Have seem some fall out, some almost out, and some not even move. Modded or stock. It can happen.

It is random, just depends on fit. I have seen them out at 80,000 miles, and still in at 300,000.

Mine dropped out around 230K...about 300 miles before I planned on tabbing it. Just get it dona and out of the way, I patched mine, but it still leaks oil. Sooner or later I'll get around to replacing the whole case, sooner or later...

just get it out of the way now. it killed us at 230 thousand and we patched for another 5 thousand. and when we finally took it apart there were alluminum shavings in the oil and engine. not good we had to change oil and filter 3 times to get all shavings out.

I tabbed mine at 152000-ish. Do it now like everyone says. Its not hard at all. It was way easier than I thought.

KDP=Killer Dowel Pin. It's an alignment dowel placed in the block to help get the case lined up on the front of the motor. They fall at any time. I know of one guy who had the parts to kill it, and it dropped about a day before he was gonna tear into it.

I did mine at 90000, it hadn't come out but had moved 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch so I'm sure it would of come out at some point.

its funny that the only aplication that have probs are in the trucks. every engine rebuild that we get at the shop i always take a look at the pin and it is as tight as can be even try beating it in and no luck. i guess its the constant change in rpms.
