I aquired 6 CAV injectors today. I don't know anything about what they came out of, besides a "400 or so hp Cummins" They have some red paint on the tops of them. The numbers are as follows: 6740 right by the fuel line on the top. Then on the lip by the fitting it says : CAV England LJC6760506 JH Does anyone know what these are or anything about them? Where can I get some info?

 

The only things I know of that use CAV systems are Ford and Massey tractors along with Perkins engines. You might call an injector rebuilder that does tractors and ask.

 

Thats the same thing I thought, because all of my Massey that have Perkins use CAV pumps. I got a reply from a company today with this:

"All I can tell you about those injectors are that they were designed for use in with 3 different CPL (Control Parts List) engines however I don't know what equipment these engines were used in. They are CPL 940 which is 190 hp @ 2500 RPM, CPL 998 which is 200 hp @ 2500 RPM, and CPL 1165 which is 244 hp @ 2100 RPM. Unlike the previous Cummins PT systems actual injector flow cannot be checked, only opening pressure and atomization"

 

the "B" series uses bosch rotary pumps, lucas cav rotary pumps,nipon denso inline pumps,bosch inline pumps, diesel kiki inline pumps depending on application. I have seen lucas cav injectors in a b series before but these were low HP engines
