what exactly are these blow-off hoses under my truck?

what exactly are these blow-off hoses under my truck?

just curious...i see the hoses under there and ive heard talk about them here and there but what exactly are they for? what am i expected to see coming out of them and why?

What kind of hoses are they? Do you mean the vent hoses for the axles?

Are you talking about the blow by tube hanging down from the engine?

If so it vents the crankcase pressure to the atmosphere to keep the pumping (air moving) losses down and it also prevents a pressurized crankcase from blowing out all of your seals and gaskets.

Oh yea, it also allows oil to escape and drip all over the driveway.
