My girlfriend put a remote start on my truck for Christmas. It's been working great the past 3 weeks until about 2 days ago. Everytime I use the remote start, it starts fine but when I put my key in, the ABS and emergency brake light come on and wont go off unless I turn the truck off and restart it again using the key. So I decided to plug the Smarty Jr. in to see if there was a code thrown. It gave me these codes. P0477 which read "Low voltage on engine brake driver" and code P0513 which read "Invalid skim key"

Im guessing the invalid skim key has something to do with the remote start? Can anyone help me out with these?

im gonna guess because of the remote start the computer is not reading the key properly and thinking someone is trying to steal it?

and maybe the remote start again is connected somehow to the brake wiring. im not to sure to be honest. but sounds like something is screwy maybe with the install.

 

Sounds like one of the ignition feed wires for the remote start isn't making a good connection, or just plain fell off! May be the same wire that feeds the bypass module for the SKIM key as well. I would be an install issue.
