What is a DV/ delivery valve
its a valve in the injection lines that allows how much fuel gets to the motor. ie. the bigger the better .181<.191<lazer cuts and more fuel if you can use it means more power but higher egts
I want to increase the performance of my truck to around 300-350hp. I plan on adding a exhaust/dp, cold air kit, and either a 100 or 10 plate. Am I better off changing the injectors or the dv's what will I gain by changing the dv's alone? Where do I purchase upgraded dv's and how easy are they to install?
Thanks
Herb

Lots of different vendors sell DV's , Piers being the first one that comes to mind, they are not hard to install either , although you will require a special socket , also available from piers. They also have install instructions on their website.

For your desired power level I really don't think you'll be needing these, it depends on what truck you are starting with, as to which ones it has stock I think. Just my opinion though you can easily meet your power needs without spending on these.

Not to sidetrack too much, but how much difference do you guys think some laser cuts will make on my truck? As you can see in my signature, I have a set of 370's already, but stock dv's. I'm also gonna downsize the turbo to a 62/12-I think it'll cool egt's overall, while greatly improving spoolup.

laser cut dv's would make your truck smoke like a freight train they will almost double the amount of fuel you have now. look at my video i'm running a super phat shaft 62, 370's and lasercuts. i can't believe you only dynoed 417 with a htt 64, guys are making 450 on the stock turbo something don't sound right either the dyno or your truck
No, read it again. It made 417 on the stock turbo with nitrous. However, to your credit I will say that not only is that dyno an inertia dyno, it's NOTICEABLY lower than just about any other dyno, even when dynoing light vehicles for which the drum weight is a good simulation of real load. Both of these things serve to lower the apparent performance of the truck. My truck runs about 98 mph in the 1/4. Especially considering I've been doing it with a nv4500 and a dual disk clutch (makes it about impossible to speed shift), it would probably run faster than that with an automatic or a fast shifting manual. No doubt the ET would me MUCH better with an auto. Plugging the weight and 1/4 mile mph into any online calculator that I know results in a much higher horsepower figure than that dyno. For example, I just now tried it on an online calculator, and it said 514 hp at the wheels. This is with the current turbo. The dyno in question said 450 hp. See the discrepancy?
Another example: I have a '91 mustang that used to have a 393 stroker in it. The car weighed 3100 lbs with me in it, and ran a best of 138 mph in the 1/4. Same dyno said it makes 546 hp. Not possible-you can't possibly run that speed at that weight and only make 546 hp. The minimum online estimators have given is 600 hp even, and some have ranged to nearly 650.
So, in summation, yes I believe you're right about that dyno. I keep dynoing there because it's the only one in town, and I can compare previous results on the same dyno for repeatability.

Boston I have a 94 as well. Are you planning on towing? I am running a #8 plate, 3k spring kit, 80 HP injectors, ATS manifold and Cold Air Intake. With my setup my truck tows great and has TONS of power. With my 80 HP injectors I did not need to upgrade the DV valves.

I plan on towing a 24' enclosed car hauler loaded it weights about 8k lbs. I am worried about power and high egts. The stock 160 I have now is a joke. I want around 300 reliable horses with safe egts. My truck is still bone stock I am waiting for a complete performance package that has been proven to work. Any suggestions?
Thanks
