Wasgate actuator
Wasgate actuator
I have a Dodge Diesel and I am lookin for a bigger turbo for it right now its got the little H1C I believe. Lookin at gettin an HX35.
Ones I've been seein have a hose goin from the wastegate to the compressor housing. On mine it goes to the back of the fuel pump. Was wonderin what the difference was.

The wastegate is the same but the sensor line on our rigs goes right to the AFC housing on the fuel pump. This senses intake manifold pressure.
Truth be known, I like our setup better. This way the wastegate only opens on 23 psi (or 18 in your case) at the manifold after the pressure drop through the intercooler etc. The other setup with the sensor line at the compressor opens the gate at the psi before the intercooler and is not actual intake manifold pressure.
The big difference in the H1C and HX is the compressors ability to produce boost at a broader range of RPM of the engine. I know with my 93, the H1C would flutter at low RPM high boost conditions, where the HX has that ability.
