valet switch?

valet switch?

How do you install one? Is it something I can make or do? I did a search but they dont really say how to put one in. 370's comming soon!!! Can it be left on while driving long distances or is it just short term? thanks

You install it between the intake manifold, and the AFC housing on the pump.

All it is, is and electric solenoid breaking the airflow to the pump, so if you can figure out a way to make one, go for it. If not, Piers sell them and they come with everything you need.

I think it can be used long term, I have. I usually leave it off (no boost to pump,Closed) except when towing (no injectors, yet, must have power).

What Chris said, yes it can be used exstensivly mine stays off except when pulling or laying the smack down on an ocasinal ricer.

Pier's does sell them and they come with directions.

I made a 3 position switch valet system .1st stage /off 30psi@800 degrees, 2nd stage/52 psi @1000 degrees 3rd stage/FULL FUEL!I also have a wastegate control set up to dump at a predetermined psi.

I've been wondering if I could do this? I need atouch more power on the low end, and full fuel is killing my clutch (stocker with 30,000 mi) with the trailer on.

Dang Ricers at school can take me in Valet, but not when I flip the switch, though.

Mine will be infinate not just 2~3 levels. [ I don't mean that's bad , I'm not knocking anyone elses setup by any means ]

To turn the power down at selected times. Some do it for mileage, others so a valet driver doesn't go hot rodding, or what I'm watching this thread for is to help out winter driving. While I suppose you could just feather the accelerator but a valet switch would be nice for nasty winter driving.

I made sure mine was off when I took it in for our new "Smog" test. They dyno & do the opacity test. Passed with flying colors @ 0.6%.
