Vacuum pump rebuild

Looks like I have a bad pump or a leak that I cant hear. Im betting on the bad pump since I have a lot of oil spray under the truck too.
Does anyone have a link to a writeup on rebuilding the pump (pretty sure I saw a rebuild kit offered someplace versus a new pump)? A source for the kit?
My ABS light came on so I bought the sender for the tone ring on the back but my HVAC and cruise are out so I figured vacuum problem.

I found a guy with a site fixinrams.com looks like its probably the seal and its replaceable. Thats probably where you got the kit with the CD
I just started using synthetics so thats my guess as to how the seal went bad. apparently the OEM seal isnt so good.
Im just hoping its not the shaft thats gone, or somethin else internal.

Great, just ordered there.
I think Im going to give PSC a call right now. Looks like the pump will need to be bled of air in any case.

Cummins Seal Kit for Vaccuum Pump

Go to a cummins dealer and ask for part number 4089742. This is a seal kit for the vacuum pumps. It even comes with detailed instructions. I thought it was going to be difficult, but really it was very easy. The hardest thing was getting the PS hoses off. Just disconnect everything and the upper boot for Intercooler and pull PS and Vac pump up and out. Degrease it and all the parts, install seals and put back in. EASY. This kit was $9 and change. Beats the 50-60 at other websites. Mine hasn't leaked a drop since. Also buy power steering fluid as it is drained in the rebuild process.

I lost my brakes and through searching here found the vac pump to be a problem. Took it to dodge and they concured (yeah new to diesels and wasnt in the mood to tear into the engine, considering its my DD) I bought a reman pump from fixinrams.com and dodge installed it. He actually refused to sell it to me till i found that i had no psi from the pump. After I took care of that, he got me a new pump within 2 days. It's been great so far and the customer service from them have been fantastic. My truck brakes fine now, minus the warped rotors... my next issue.
