Here in Ontario if the inspectors catch you with dyed diesel they can and will go back to the day you registered the truck and fine you based on the miles/kilometers that you have added if you don't have receipts to prove that it was a mistake or emergency. Fines of up to $25K are not unheard of. First Nations who do not pay for road tax are exempt and they can run dyed fuel.
Just not worth the risk. I've been stopped several times and if he can't get a sample from the tank, he'll get one from the filter. Always keep the last receipt on the visor to save some time.
