Depends on the lvl of turned up you seeking, There are afc mods, that can be done, diff fuel plate profile #10, #100 #0, delivery valves (laser cut 181's, 191's). You can have the fuel plate installed and adjusted in under a hour. DV's take about a hour with a DV socket. Govenor spring kit takes about a hour for the 3GSK, 4 and 5 take longer due to valvespring installation. I am not exactly sure what you meant by turned up. Theres quite a few adjustments that can be made. A fuel plate and adjustment will get you a large increase in power, and govenor spring kit makes driving alot of fun.

some people refer to turnin the AFC screw as turning the pump up also. But this just increases or decreases low end fuel

BigErksG2:

Your friend wasn't talking out the wrong orifice sorry to say.

He meant one of two things. On first generations you can turn up the screw to increase fueling. On 12V second generations you have to take the injection pump off and have it recalibrated on a bench stand. This will give you even more fuel above and beyond what the other mods will do. It is worth the time and trouble. Pump takes about 30 - 45 minutes to take off, about an hour of bench time and 45 - 60 to reinstall and recheck timing. Easy to do, easier with a 15mm swivel head socket and long extension. The whole write up is in the Haynes manual. Also makes it very easy to adjust the govenor arm with the pump off.

Now go apologize to your friend, say you're sorry and make nice.
