Turbo upgrade?

My truck's description is in my sig.. I live out in the hills and tow a 6000+lb trailer around. The EGT gets hot in a hurry on the hills. The truck has a lot more power left in it, but I have to lift off the skinny pedal so I don't burn it down. I know I could move the plate back or get rid of the 100 plate altogether, but that wouldn't be fun anymore. Sooo, what's the best turbo upgrade to get some more air through this thing? I'm thinking changing the compressor side of the turbo somehow.. Am I on the right track?

whats your buget? If your trying to save money a 16cm exhaust housing works pretty good. not quite the snap as the stock 12cm but if you play with your pump it isnt to bad. But for around $150 to $200 its not to bad.

Cheaper is always better... $200 doesn't seem too bad. Won't a larger turbine housing make it really laggy? And how does that lower the EGT? I guess the exhaust gas can escape easier, but I was thinking that getting more air into the engine would be the way to go. Maybe I'm wrong?

its not THAT big of an exhaust housing tho. you'll be good with your 100 plate. you will feel it have a slower spool tho but barely. i think a Super B would be good for you cuz it has a good spool time and 450hp cooling capabilities. excellent turbo for mild to semi modded rigs. also good top turbo for the future twins!! haha and cheaper is not ALWAYS better. you get what you pay for and money is made to be spent.

Do you need an hx-40 down pipe for a super B?

Yes... A 16 housing will spool so similarly you won't notice, but you will get the long legs out of it, which is what your were asking for.

Honestly Id save the money and at least upgrade to a phat shaft 62 or something in that range.
You can spend more money on a halfway solution that gives poor performance or wait until youre ready.
the ps62 should be reasonably safe on your headgasket until youre ready to upgrade.. especially with your timing being low.
Youll want to upgrade the injectors a little to get the fuel to spool it too. maybe some marine 370's or bosch 300's
I just got 400hp out of the combo im running and its short money. I also cant get the pyro to top 1300F with this turbo.
