Turbo Replacement
Turbo Replacement
Ok Im still new to the diesel thing...thinking of buying a '95 CTD with 165k miles and a blown turbo. How difficult would it be to swap in a reman turbo unit. I have rebuilt BBC motors and just finished a pro-touring '70 Chevelle. Should I have it done or is it something someone with moderate experience could handle in maybe a weekend? Truck is listed for 3k so trying to stay low budget
Thanks

Thanks
I think it would be cake,in fact I'm going to do an upgrade on my 95 H1c very shortly for better cooling and more power. I have never done one before but from what I have heard the hardest part is getting the bolts apart but if you are going to just swap it out I would say it would be easy.....
should be easy cheesy
. Like said above if it puked oil out in the intake or exhaust that will have to be cleaned up when you do it, that being aside should only take you about an hour. As for your turbo purchase call HTT, you can probably get a nice upgraded turbo for the same or less money than a new or rebuilt, check it out here http://www.htturbo.com/
