I've had the truck in the garage now for a few weeks, since the tranny blew. I've been going through everything I can on the truck while it's down, and I decided to take out the turbo and clean wastegate and do a general inspection. I didn't really break it down too much, just the wastegate and took compressor housing/wheel off. I marked where it was on the shaft, and when I put it all back together, torqued the nut to 145 lb-in like I read, and now when I start the truck it will spin and whistle just like it always did for about a minute, then I can hear the compressor wheel screeching in the housing. It was rubbing right inside of the intake, just out of sight. It always turns free by hand, once the truck is off, but it will come to a stop when the truck is idling. I also noticed a little extra oil in the downpipe.

The shaft doesn't seem to be bent at all, I was pretty careful with it when it was apart. Time for rebuild? Truck is mostly stock, HX35Y and about 170k on it. Radial and axial play are at the limits, but they have been since I got the truck. Turbo leaked when I first got it, too much idling I think because it hasn't wept at all since I got it almost 100k ago. Thanks for any help.
