I'v got a 97 that wouldn't start a few weeks ago so I put a new fuel solenoid on it two weeks ago and everything had been great but today I was going down the road and the truck died. It would start back up but died as soon as I let of the key so I got a stick and wedged in to hold up the fuel shutoff solenoid and started it but the truck would not shift or charge, I had no electronics so did I frag a computer or a power feed to the pcm or what, I have power to one poll on the hold relay for the solenoid but can't find a wiring schematic for the smaller hold relay can I get some help please I'm losing my mind with this truck...any help thanks
twisselman1968,
My 98 did the same thing. Check the fuse panel in the Cab. Mine was blowing a fuse all the time. Would crank and catch but died as soon as you let go of the key.
I don't have the truck here to tell you which one to check, Sorry. I belive it is the 10 amp. Turned out that I had a wire that had been rubbing on the ABS module for the last 200k. Re-wired that one and have had no more troubles.
