Transmission Oil Cooler Lines

Had transmission shop rebuild tranny and when they put in the transmission oil cooler lines, they did not put a spacer in between them. Well, now they leak bad. But they said that from factory, these never had a spacer. Is that true? You would think any smart mechanic would realize that they need something in between the lines so that they will not rub together.

The factory spacer on my 96 was the reason my lines leaked, wore a hole in the line.

To keep mine from rubbing and chaffing holes I took 1/2" heater and cut it in 1" pieces and then cut a slit down one side and placed this piece on the line and tightly banded it with a heavy wire tie. I did this in about 8 places from trans to cooler and then to radiator. Once I did this lines were tight in place and tight to each other, but separated by rubber.
