tranny line

How hard do you guys think replacing the tranny return line would be? A hole formed when the tranny line droped on to the cross member and rubbed I put a patch on it but still need to fix it, so should I have someone do it for me ( tranny shop ) or do it myself? when or if I go to do it what am I looking at? I know it needs to fit over the crossmember and it looks tight through there. Also what conects the ends? bolts? thanx for any help

The lines are really easy to replace, and most guys use the hose made for transmission coolers and clamps, and then just cut out the bad sections with a tubing cutter. Just be sure to blow out the line to get any metal particles out before you reassemble.

The hose makes it a snap to reinstall over and around the frame components.

The cooler lines connect with threaded ends.

I already have the new tranny line, so I might as well replace it or have it replaced. from what you said it sounds easy so I think I'll do it when I have the time.

Hey do I need to drain the tranny fluid first or just take the line off?

When we cut into my hot line for a temp sender (did the $10 brass T), it self-drained... right down my arms, up my shirt, and pooled around my shoulders...
