Trackbar reccomendations

My trackbar is worn out and need to replace it. Should I get a factory or some other brand?

Consider going with something other then a stock replacement. The stock trackbars have a reputation for wearing out quick. I put a 3rd gen trackbar (requires and adapter) on my 97 and my daughter's 96 both make a noticeable handling improvement. Installation isn't to difficult, first one took about 3 hrs the second about 5 a bracket was messed up and one of the bolts didn't fit quite right.

If you don't want to go with a 3rd Gen you might consider a Thuren trackbar I've read a lot of good things about those.

Ive never heard of anyone having a problem with a Thuren bar, its considerably stronger than the factory bar.

Do an internet search for Luke's Link. For about $70 makes your old one like new and they are adjustable. Put one on mine and it works fine.

A MOOG is the same as the stocker. I second Thuren Fabrication. Good products.

I run the Soild Steel Third Generation Kit on mine. Its has made the truck drive like it should have from Ma Mopars factory long ago.You will not go wrong with any of their products.....Andy

Here is a shot showing the 3rd gen Trac Bar and the DSS Brace on the driver side of the truck.

The luke link threads on right, do you have to have the stock track bar cut and threaded, or are some threaded from the factory?

Luke's link

Once you have the kit installed on the track bar it is installed on the truck just as the stock bar was. I hope that was your question.

I'm real happy with my Moog Problem Solver. I think I payed $160 for it. The TRE in it is a lot bigger than the one in the stock track bar. My truck drives a lot better since.
Good luck,
Aaron.

the only thing i dont like about the Moog bar, is that is is larger than the stock. So once the moog fails, and it eventually will. you cannot put the Lukes LInk on the Moog. Lukes link only fits the stocker.

If done the stock, the moog, the lukes link, all have eventually failed.
I got a free replacement of this last one , but next one will be aftermarket.

Call me cheap but a lifetime warrantied bar from Napa works for me. They seem to last about 60k and exchange for new one is no problem.

Is the Thuren actually better performing than stock, or just more durable?
