Torque Converter ?
Torque Converter ?
Anybody Heard Or Know Anything About Oregon Performance Of Phoenix Performance Convertors.i Need A New And Don't Really Have The Cash For An Ats,goerand Or Art Carr One.want Something Thats At Least Better Than Stock
Do you need it because yours is shot? or do you just want one? I only ask because if you can still get by with yours, you are better off to save up a couple hundred dollars from a few paychecks and get the real thing. After doing LOTS of research on my own of all the "ebay" converters I have come to the conclusion they are just not worth it. If I am going to spend 500$ on a so-so converter with a so-so useless warranty, I can wait an couple of extra months to buy a real converter with a real warranty. Probably not what you want to hear, but I just want to give you an opinion from someone who was in the market for a cheap fix at first.
well the stall on the converter is messing up and causing the truck to run like crap at idle in gear and right out of the hole.haven't had the truck too long and already spent 1600 on a used tranny and a converter came with it but was used also.got it to just get me along for a while.paid to keep my core so i could do a performance build on it over time.but i have to have a converter now before this one tears my get along tranny up.
I ordered a buncha stuff from them - their parts are all name-brand items in the transmission industry.
If the engine has low power at take-off up to about 30mph, but ok after that, the stator roller-clutch is bad
If it's loading down at idle, that could be the clutch - prolly the brake-lite switch needs adjusting, or the pressure-switch in the trans is failing
At any rate, if you change the t\c, pull the pan first to see how much burned clutch material and any metal particles are laying in the bottom - burned clutch materal is more the band adjustment, metal stuff may be the t\c coming apart - that would be all thru the trans and cooler, and would soon ruin the new t\c
