TC Lockup?
TC Lockup?
I broke my switch the other day and found one today I would like to replace it with. But I don't think I can make it work unless one of you guys have an idea. I bought a rocker switch with a little red light built into it. If well fit perfectly where the factory fog lights go, right beside the OD button. It is a three prong switch(power, load, ground). It well need the power fed and the ground for the light. Is there anyway to wire it up so the light will work and I can still ground my tc lockup wire without putting juice to it. Hope I am not being to confusing. I printed off the wiring scematic for the red and amber light with a buzzer, but that is way over my head. If I go that route I will have to find someone who can follow that.
Thanks

For your switch to control both the light and lockup it will need at least four poles, two separate circuits. They're called DPST (double pole single throw). Your three wire switch probably has one common, one normally on and one normally off wires.
A factory fog light switch will work, the lighting and switching circuits are separate. Cost about $20 and has lighting that dims with the dash and an indicator light when it's on. Only problem is it will have a picture of a headlight on it
If you are set on using the switch you have then you will need a relay to activate the lighting and lockup circuits separately.

Yeah I ran into the same problem with a spst switch with integrated light. Spent hours trying to make it work. Go buy the DPST and take the other back to Walmart--they'll take anything back.
