Tach falling to 0, help
So I am new to the 12v thing, just got the truck last weekend, picked it up for cheap. When driving, usually when converter is locked up, the tach will fall to 0 and the converter unlocks. Then the tach will jump back up and the converter will lock again. Was intermittent but then this morning the tach fell to 0 and then never came back. Any idea on what is going on? Cam sensor? Thanks in advance!

The Cam sensor would be my first guess, but aside from that a grounding issue might be the problem as well if the tach works at all other times.

No cam sensor on a 12V, just an engine speed sensor on the outside of the harmonic balancer, many of us have found that the connector to the ESS up by the oil fill tube has become greasy, and will intermittently short out. I would inspect the sensor and wires, then take the connector apart and clean it out with contact cleaner ( I use brake cleaner, cheaper ) dry it good and see if that isn't it.
PS just for your info, you not only don't have OD, you don't have charging, cruise or AC if I remember right.
