Synthetic Oil & Mileage Intervals????

I know this is subjective and it probably has a lot to do with your driving conditions, but I am going to ask it anyway.
What synthetic oil are you using and how many miles are you driving in between changes? Also how long time wise will you leave the oil in? I will only put around 4k on my truck in a year so I don't know if the expense of synthetic will be worth it.

This is just my opinion, but if you are only putting that many miles on your truck, I don't know that I would pay the extra for synthetic. If you look at your manual, I think it shows at least 5,000 as change intervals anyway with regular dino oil.

The rise in oil prices does bring up an interesting question though. Since full synthetic isn't made from oil, does that mean that the price of synthetic will stay the same and could be eclipsed by the dino stuff? What do you guys think?

I'm running the full amsoil system and I'm doing my filter changes ...one at 7000 and the other 25000 ... there supose to increase the 7000 mile one to a 25000 .
I dump my oil once a year ...the truck has 161,000 and has had amsoil in its whole life ...the inside of the motor is like new .
The stuff works ... look at the big trucks ...The fleets do there oil at 400,000 .

I use Amsoil in my in both my trucks,, my 2500 I use to haul rv campers with i try to change it once a month, but in one month i put on approx 30,000 kms or 18,500 miles a month. Half that mileage has a trailer weighing between 7,000 - 11,000 pounds. On my personal truck. i average 20,000 miles a year on it, and i use amsoil as well and i change it once a year. I do change the oil filter once in between approx 10,000 miles and add 1 quart of oil. Oil samples have always came back good on them

I think with the rising oil prices and cost of disposal I feel it is the more economical way to go these days .
I'm running the oil and ea spin-on filter on a land cruiser and canging my oil and filter on that machine at 15 thousand and also having the oil anilized ... no problems .
