$17 a quart for Redline is great...I've been running Royal purple, which was recommended to me by a few people on the forum. It's also much easier for me to find. Have you looked into doing a ford axle swap? certainly less costly than the free-spin kits.

I hadn’t heard of the Ford swap. Tell me more.

I'm no expert by any means on the details, but there are many people on here, cummins-forum, and pirate that have either done an entire axle swaps, or just swapped the free spins from the ford. IMO there are two many variables involved to say whether or not it's worth it, i.e. access to parts, time, $, etc. worth keeping on the back-burner though.

Thanks. For now I’ll run the cable kit and see how it goes.

Got the front driveshaft back, $310 worth, whew! Had to weld in new yokes for the centering ball, and went ahead and added solid perma-lube u-joints while we were in there.

Put new rear shoes and stock replacement wheel cylinders on this week. It’s a lot less scary to drive with functional binders on.

Finally got the Posi-lok kit from Summit, and got a chance to put it on tonight. Do yourself a favor: buy the wear pad/clip/shoe pieces for the CAD shift fork beforehand. Even if they appear to be ok, they’re $2 each. Mine were both missing, so now I’ll have to wait to reassemble it.

Installed the Diamond Eye exhaust (mostly) last night. Does anyone have pictures of the stock hanger locations on the axle-back section of tailpipe? The instructions say to use the stock hangers but thay are already missing. My other ‘96 has the same system except in 5”. It came to me missing any hangers and I rigged it with some class 8 parts.
