Swapping axle shaft and other components in to new axle case
Swapping axle shaft and other components in to new axle case
Well, the front axle case on my 96 has rusted out and the sway bar endlink bracket has broken off and took part of the spring perch with it. I bought a used axle case from the junk yard, only thing left in it are the gears. Same gears as i have, so that part is covered. I put new axle seals in the empty case, but now i need to take the axle shafts out of the broken axle and put them into the new axle case. How intensive of a job is this. I searched on here and found a good tech write up. I am just wondering if i should bring it to a garage and have them swap in the axle shafts or is this something that i can handle on my own. Thanks for any tips you can give.
