swaping a nv4500 into an auto 4x4

hey guys I 've been throwing around the idea of swapping a 5 speed into my 94 ram 2500 4x4., just wondering if any frame members need to be relocated(heard that they had to be), and if the driveshats will need to be shortned/legenthed. and just wondering how much of a pain the swap is to do, and if it would cost less to build up the slush-box auto.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

best thing to do is buy a donor truck so you have the pedals and clutch pedal switch and all that good stuff. the auto's are very costly to build up. good luck with your choice

Do the swap. I am puting the nv5600 in my 95 12v that had an auto. So far I have not had to change anything major on the frame. Pedals came w/ mine, just knock off some c-clips to change them.

Did the swap 6 months ago. Bought mine from a donor truck with all the stuff. Mine is a standard cab and the rear driveshaft is longer......the front driveshaft had to be shortened.

I also bought the 5 speed computer so that all I had to do was ground one wire near the tranny. If you leave the auto computer in you have to do some wire splicing......not too bad, but I wanted mine to look factory.

sweeet, have the same style truck, I could probably get 5-speed comp from wreckers, but if not which wires need splicing?? or is there a link/site I can find this info????

how much did the driveshaft modification run, and do you know how much the rear shaft had to be extended? and how much the front had to be shortened??? thanks for the information.
