supposed to leak???

i heard from the owner of a CTD that the engines are supposed to leak out of some tube on the engine???? is this guy full of it or what?
it looked to me like it was a rear main seal. are CTDs similar to gassers in that way?
thanks

-Bryan

12v's have a blow by tube hanging down on the driver's side near the starter (rear of the engine). They can leave a little drop every now and then. The tube is say maybe 1" diameter and clearish color. The fuel drain tube is also in the same location but it's a smaller diameter.

if the oil is sprayed all over the bell housing similar to a minor main seal leak is this a problem? how would i tell which kind of leak it is?
thank you for the input.

The blow-by tube can blow oil all over everything underneath while goind down the road...usually when the rear main leaks, the clutch will slip (unless it's an auto, in which case I have no idea what happens or what it looks like, and quite frankly, I don't care either )

It's not supposed to have an excess abount of oil down there, but it will have enough to make it look messy!

My tube is usually moist looking and drips just enough oil to keep my front axle u-joint lubricated
