Question still surges after TPS cleaning, what next?

well on my 97, i have been experiencing some surging issues going down the interstate the last couple weeks

doing 75mph on a flat chunk of road, no wind, i will be pushing 5psi of boost steady. about once or twice a minute, you can feel the truck surge and you can see the boost go up to 7 or 8psi

so tonight after doing some reading, i pulled my TPS off and drilled a small hole in it.

- still not sure if i drilled it in the right spot.... it was on the completely flat side, one third of the way in from the right side, and about half-3/4 of an inch from the bottom. i felt the drill "punch through" so i sprayed some electric cleaner in the hole and let it run out, did that a few times. let it dry up for an hour, then i dabbed a bit of RTV over the hole to seal it and reinstalled it-

anyway, i took it back out for a test drive, and it still is doing it. what should i look at next, throttle cable?? i havent noticed any frayed cable or anything of that nature so i wasnt positive on doing that. i have also heard of guys taking the wires out of the harness for their TPS and placing them in their own loom, but i just would hate to do all that dang harness diving for nothing.
any thoughts on this would be much appreciated

Why are you thinking the TPS is the trouble? Who told you that?

TPS trouble usually shows up around 50 mph. Your converter will lock and unlock. I also had a bit of a hickup, like running out of fuel, at 30 mph or so. Did you happen to check the TPS voltage for a smooth increase throughout it's travel?

I don't know what to say about your problem. If you're noticing a boost increase, there's some reason why an extra load is being put on the engine.

i thought it might be the TPS just from reading up on here and listening to other people talk about what it could possibly be

i have heard anything from it being a lock up solenoid, to my TPS, to the throttle cable. i am just kind of fishing around trying to figure out what the heck the deal is with this pig

Sounds like a TPS problem to me.
Sometimes cleaning won't do it and a new one is in order.
You could try installing a mystery switch permanent or temporary to isolate the problem.
