starting problems

truck will start fine one time , and will not start at all the next . any ideas ?

its a 97 and right now this morning as i speak i cant get it to start at all. it acts like it aint gettin fuel.

Check your shutdown solenoid to make sure it's opening. It opens when you engage the starter. If it's not opening you can lift up on the plunger rod with the key on and it should stay up until you shut the truck down.

where exactly is this located at? there is a like a bulb valve on the drivers side of the motor and this is soft isnt it supposed to be hard?

It's round and has a rod attached covered with a rubber boot .... it's bolted to your AFC ...... pull up on it and see if it starts .... relay could be bad or the soleniod shot ... or sticking .... <br><br>

Aneriod Fuel Control on the injection pump .... just aft of where all the fuel lines are ... looks like a hump on the back of the pump ...

sorry, i just cant seem to see what your refering to is it on the top side of pump towards the motor itself or what. is it something i need a pliers or screwdriver to lift or what? looked all over for this. still kindof new to this motor.

the solenoid is located on the injection pump towards the firewall on the drivers side. There is a plunger rod that is attached to the pump lever. Pull up on the lever.

i think it is mybe a cracked fuel line. if i crack open the #1 injector and turn it over, i can get it to start but i will have to get a buddy over so i can close the line after i get it started.. prognosis-- air in the fuel line??? ???
