starter on automatic

If your starter goes bad unexpectedly and you are in the middle of nowhere. Is there another way to start an automatic truck?

you can try to beat on the starter a bit and jump tne cylanoid from underneath,in some cases that may get you one last start.its a little primative but has worked for me in the past.

If you can get to it, using a jumper on the solenoid has worked for years on the old Ford solenoid. This assumes that its a bad solenoid not bad starter.

I built a starter solenoid contact out of a piece of scrap copper pipe once- not only got me home but worked for several months afterwards.

I got an auto gasser stuck in the boonies going once by shorting between the starter contacts with the jack handle while beating on the side of the starter with a rock.
Primate, but it worked.
