Stacks?
Stacks?
Dont know if this goes here but who makes the best stack kits for a 1997 2500 4x4 I was looking at mbrp, grandrock and silverline but the prices are different was wondering if one was superior over the other? Thanks.
MBRP will last longer and is easier to install, Silverline is cheaper but will fall apart depending on where you live anywhere between 6 to 12 months. and I had Grand rock stacks on my 99 and the tee pipe was a pain to install. But that is all my opinon.
I have the silverline stacks on my dually. Stacks are stainless, everything else is aluminzed steel. The fit and finish on the rest of the system was a bit disappointing. Clamps would not fit onto the flared section of pipe, and once that was corrected, you really had to crank on them to keep the pipe snug. They also have their name etched into the stacks on two sides. I really don't like showing off manufacturers names unless they gave me free products (hasn't happened yet), so I may go to just some reg chrome stacks in the future. Everything was included to hook it up to a 4" exhaust though, so atleast its a full kit. Its a 4" to 5" stack setup.
It might be worth while going to a big rig store and get exhaust pieces individually. You could make the whole thing chrome, which would look good if you aren't putting a box over it all.
