Well first I wanted to say were I come from we call smoking cars or people 'smoke checks' Similar to a hockey check.

Second, I wanted to see how everyone with similar mods as I smoked? I ground my own #100 plate full foward, afc forward, star full foward, have a K&N custom cold air, 4" Staight exhaust.

Start up - Puffs a small bit
Idle Quick Rev - Small puff
Low RPM rolls - under 35 - Rolls a little but is gone in seconds
50 mph converter locked lugg - smokiest I can get it, enough that a car behind cant miss it.
60mph + stomp to floor - About the same as 50 mph lugg, but thins out quick due to speed.

Either way it seems like if I am not at a low rpm I cant get steady smoke. Lets say I go from a stop, it will puff a bit from the stop, but be cleaned up in a second and never smokes after that. Seem normal for my mods?

I'll try to get my girl to take some video or pictures. I was thinkning it would smoke more than it goes, but I'm willing to go with some 379's to get there.

You don't want too much smoke - although I would have thought a 100 would fuel harder than my 10.

 

Its all relative on how its set up,you can slide the plate back to get rid of some smoke.The low boost smoke youre having can be adjusted via the screw at the back of the afc.If you think youve got smoke now,wire a lockup switch in there.Lock up from a stop light and put it to the floor,then youll have smoke

 

I was actually hoping for more smoke than what I was seeing. I am aware of wasted fuel, no extra power, EGT's, etc and I dont care. I just need to re-adjust certain other motorists attitudes from time to time.

Would Marine 370's do it? I'd like it to be like the video on youtube posted by ramdriver15 titled 'lost in smoke'. Look it up, he references this site...

the starwheel sould be all the way off the spring if you wount smoke.
i have a '97 with a 5-speed and i put a 100 fuel plate and modified the afc and i can black out a 2 to 3 lane road easy. also my stock clutch didnt like it, it wount hold all the power now and started sliping.

we all apreciate it dude, i got stoped the other day because there is a kid here in town that loves his smoke but nothing to show for it.

What AFC mods did you do? I turned the starwheel until I couldnt get it to turn with a screw driver anymore. The threaded whole isnt real big. How far does it go?

my 96 has the same mods and it seems like it smokes more than urs.. i have a 100 plate all the way back
