silencing ring on a turbo
silencing ring on a turbo
Anyone know how to remove the silencing ring on a turbo and what would you gain from doing that? Does it cause any porblems at all thanks for your input
take your turbo inlet hose of and it is rite there, remove the snap ring and out it comes , here is a link with a picture.http://www.protintnw.com/dodgezilla_turbo.htm
To remove the silencer ring
Remove the hose that goes to the turbo, when thats out, look for the ring similar to the one above, and then jus take a flat screwdriver to the little steel snapping ring that holds it in place. Remove it little by little till it comes out, then WALA! pull out your ring and enjoy some newfound turbo whistle.
PS to get even more air, remove the little plastic sleeve that connects the airbox to the passenger vent... Then shell really sound sweet!...
Best of luck

i was one of those people that intially had trouble removing the snap ring cause i was being extra gentle....take a tiny but strong flat head and a hammer and i hammered the flat head under the snap ring and then just popped it out...the end
then ofcourse the actual silencer ring just falls out
then ofcourse the actual silencer ring just falls out
