Show and Go 12 valver
The twins are gonna look sweet on this one.
The fuel lines and intake are coated as well.
This motor is being built by a friend of mine. We were planning on just installing a new head on the motor in his truck but found a horizontal crack in the #6 cylinder wall. Since he had a couple of motors laying around, he decided to build one from the ground up.
The pistons are coated with two different coating. The tops are coated in ceramic, with the skirts and main and rod bearings being coated with a dry film lube by Polymer Dynamics here in Houston.
With a set of Prince injectors, PDR cam, and twin turbos this thing's definately gonna have show and go.

Re:Show and Go 12 valver
Any idea what this has ran him so far for the engine (not including twins, etc)? I have an engine sitting in my garage waiting for basically the same thing. As far as the coated pistons, rebuild, cam, studs, etc. I'd really appreciate a rough estimate so I can better plan.
Re:Show and Go 12 valver
The fastest the truck has run before is a 14.5 I think. That was with a 175 pump, #0 plate, 370 injectors and DTT tranny.
We're hoping to be in the 12's with the new motor and mods. ;D
We still don't have a total as far as cost, but I can get you some numbers in a few days SD12V.
The cam was bought through Chris Strickland at Relentless diesel, as was the big turbo. The coating were done by Polymer Dynamics in Houston. They do a lot of work for NASCAR engine builders. Give them a call and they should be able to tell you what you need. Just ask them about the motor Michael Watkins built and they should know what you're talking about.
